Who we are and what we do:

Furever Pets is a Pet Shop in Lane COve, NSW, offering everyhting your companion animal needs on a daily basis. Our philosophy is ensuring your pet is cared for in the most enriching way possible for their whole life as an important member of your family. We provide pet owners wiht pre-adoption counselling, animal sourcing, on-site adoption centre, social club facilities, wash and clip bar, overnight home care, educations program, community activities and of course the lifeline to be able to provide all of our programs - our shop. The shop specialises in premium products as well as fun everyday essentials.

Furever Pets designed and runs a privately funded animal welfare program in partnership wiht the Sydney Dogs & Cats Home and No Kill Pet Rescue using the Furever Pets "Adopt & Donate Model" which sees shelters retain 100% of the adoption fee, animals get in-home care and training allowing them time and a suitable environment to transition, be personality assessed and enable adoptions to be done in communities that are able to care for them in a familiar positive environment, communities that are often a great distance away from the shelters themselves.

Furever Pets is participating in changing the midset of how people find their newest mamber of the family which will see a reduction in the rate of unnecessary euthanasia; see an increase in financial resources retained by pounds and shelters to maintain their programs; support families who believe adoption is right for them but do not know how to go about it; and see a chance of happiness given to those animals who find themselves lost or abandoned.

Furever Pets supplies, is sponsored for, or has public donations for everything needed for the care of the animals in the shop, excluding medical care. Through the generous support of the community Furever Pets can ensure the program's growth and development continues.

Since the program's commencement in 2011 we have facilitiated over 150 animals entering new homes and generated over $25,000 in adoptin fees retained by the shelters and pounds to continue their frontline work.

Furever Pets beleive it is a mutually beneficial, sustainable and responsible approach through their "Adopt & Donate Model" and believe this model will help our community achieve the Getting 2 Zero initiative.

We offer an everyday lifestyle community hub and pet shop environment to make finding and caring for your pet fun, affordable and Furever.

G2Z Elements and Strategies:

Community Responsibility: We have chosen to partner wiht the Sydney Dogs & Cats Home and "No Kill Pet Rescue" and designed the Furever Pets "Adopt and Donate Model" to assist our community while using the shop as an educational platform to promote Getting 2 Zero core principles which are in line with our own. We aspire to be a first point of contact and build a network that people find effective in solving their personla animal situations.

90% Saveable: We donate the adoption services and space for animals chosen by the Animal Partners for who they consider the most at need. We are open to re-homing all healthy and treatable rabbits, guinea pigs, cats and dogs that comfortably fit into the space and environment in line wiht local regualtions and codes of practice. We have a no animal left behind policy so each animal will stay with us until they are adopted with animals returning to the shelter only for medical observation and treatment.

Save Helathy and Treatable Animals: We specialise in re-homing family friendly animals as we have identified this is what our community currently purchases from local breeders, on-line websites and pet shops. We have designed a home readiness program that is tailored to rehabilitate each animal in our care to ensure that all animals regardless of their background, appearance or age can fit into a family.

- Desexing, microchipping, health checking, worming and providing flea  and heart worm treatment prior to being placed in re-homing facility.

- Daily health checks and recording of animals

- Early age desexing from 8 weeks or 1 kg for kittens and approx 2kg for puppies for average size.

- After sale health guarentee work for re-homed animals

- Training of animal care students onsite promoting Getting 2 Zero code of ethics and Furever Pets core values.

- Effective movement through the system for animals to be re-homed as quickly as possible
